99p Stores Have to Pay Thousands of Pounds After Selling Toys With Illegal Toxin Levels

A company in Leicestershire which sold children’s toys with illegal levels of toxins have recieved a fine for £16500.
Leicestershire County Council Trading Standards discovered the dolls during a test purchase operation. During the operation officers found a plastic doll that had 70 times the legal level of phthalates and a bow and arrow set which was 33 times over.
The doll was purchased at a 99p shop in Loughborough
At court the company admitted to two charges of failing to comply with legal regulations and recieved a fine of £10000 in total.
