Boy Bitten By Police Dog Awarded Compensation
Family of 11 year old Tom Cutbill who was wounded by a police dog in a garden in Oldbury will be getting compensation according the West Midlands Police.
Tom was bitten when the dog and it’s handler went into his grandmother’s garden looking for a metal thief.
Tom suffered serious wounds two and a half inches wide above and below the knee which required stitches.
Police were following up reports of a metal thief at Langley Green Train Station.
Following the attack the West Midlands Police launched an investigation.
Express and Star reported that Police Spokesmen Pete Edney said: “The boy’s injuries will be assessed at a future date to determine what if any further treatment he will receive.”
Following the incident the officer and German Shepherd named Shadow have remained on duty.
