Founded in March 2001 Michael Lewin Solicitors has quickly grown from a small local practice to a medium sized national firm offering a wide variety of specialist legal services to individuals and businesses. Today it employs over 80 people (fee earners and support teams) in the North of Leeds. The Firm prides its selves on the very highest standards of customer service and a very personal nature of work.

Key Purpose

Due to growth in a well-established regional firm in North Leeds, the firm has an exciting opportunity for a residential property solicitor, legal executive, licensed conveyancer or an experienced fee earner to work as part of its highly experienced growing team in our sister company MLS Law (Property) Limited. Full and Part time positions will be considered.

The Role

Handling a caseload of residential conveyancing transactions from inception through to completion, which will vary depending upon experience but will include:

  • Freehold, leasehold, registered and unregistered property
  • Extensive client contact
  • Remortgages
  • Leasehold flats
  • Newbuilds
  • Transfers of Equity

Knowledge

  • It is essential that you have previously handled your own caseload from inception through to post completion for a minimum of 2 years.
  • You are able to work in a challenging and busy conveyancing department autonomously
  • Experience with a case management system

Accounts Assistant – Full Time

Job Description:

One of the most important aspects of the job is to build a good working relationship with the introducers of claims, they are high maintenance.

Strong communication and organisational skills are a must and highly desirable.

A drive to develop the role and department to increase efficiency.

To be the main point of contact regarding introducer invoices, payments and credit control, both internally and externally.

Process introducer invoices once authorised for payment.

Accurately enter and maintain invoice and payment information into the departmental spreadsheet and companies accounting system.

Proactively monitor failed cases and contact introducers in regards to refunds or replacements, updating departments where appropriate.

Proactively monitor deferred payment cases and liaise with employees and update introducers where applicable.

Accurately note additional information for accepted cases.

To work within the timescales set out in individual Introducer Agreements.
