The Burton Mail published an article on Tuesday 30th of July 2013 written by Rich Guttridge reporting that a "Clerk awarded œ6000 by parish council following tribunal".

The article says that "A parish council has been ordered to pay œ6000 to its former clerk after it was taken to an employment tribunal following a row over wages".

It further explains "The decision forced upon Anglesey Parish Council at a hearing held in Birmingham is the latest blow to the beleaguered authority which has been plagued by financial problems over the last year".

We are told that "The council’s former clerk Ruth Redgate who was the authority’s only paid member before she resigned in March tuck her former employers to the tribunal to reclaim wages the council had been unable to pay due to its poor financial state. Members of the council were unhappy however at being forced to pay as they believed their financial problems had been caused by ‘mismanagement’ by senior members."
