It explains that "The average British worker has 9.1 days’ absence due to illness each year. This is compared with 4.9 days in the US and 2.2 days in the Asia-Pacific region."
Further adding "The cost of ill-health to UK organisations amassed nearly œ29 billion a year. It equates to about 90 per cent of the overall absence bill which also covers compassionate leave an industrial action."
