IKEA TELLS CUSTOMERS NOT TO USE THEIR MUGS FOR TEA
Believe it or not Ikea are telling their customers NOT to fill their mugs with hot beverages after discovering that they are a burn risk.
The Ikea Jumbo Lyda cups have had to be recalled after it was found that when people poured hot liquid into the cups they cracked.
Ikea made the decision to recall the cups after twenty seperate reports of people being scalded using them. The cups have been identified as a burning hazard and have since been removed from the shops.
THIS PRODUCT DOES CONTAIN NUTS
A Supermarket in Lancashire has had to stop selling Whole Hearted Roasted Monkey Nuts because the food label didn’t say that the product contained peanuts.
The product was recalled after the Food Standards Agency said that the product was an allergy alert.
The supermarket acted immediately and removed 300 packets of the Whole Hearted Roasted Monkey Nuts from their shops.
By not saying what nuts it contains the Food Standards Agency were concerned that it was a danger to those who are allergic to some types of nuts and not others. The lack of information on the packets meant that these had to be removed from shops.
Booths technical Manager Waheed Hassan told the BBC.
"It is our responsibility as retailers to accurately record allergy advice.”
The makers of the Whole Hearted Roasted Monkey Nuts Booths have since apologised for the lack of warning and has said those with a peanut allergy must not eat the product.
B&Q AND SCREWFIX URGE PEOPLE NOT TO USE THEIR LADDERS
Screwfix have asked consumers not to use their Screwfix Loft Ladders after incidents were reported where the ladders were falling apart because of the fixing blocks holding it in place.
Screwfix have taken the precautionary measure to recall the products after hearing about the incidents.
The product recall is of the ladders that were manufactured between August 2011 and June 2012.
If you are unsure if your ladder is one that has been recalled make sure to check the label on the side of the product. If yours is one that is dangerous to use Screwfix have told people to stop using them immediately.
Two separate makes of B & Q’s ladders have also been recalled because they are potentially unsafe.
The ladders that have been recalled are the Aluminium 3 Section Soft Ladder (barcode 1044294) and the Aluminium 2 Section Soft ladder (barcode 1044287).
B & Q want people who purchased these ladders after August 2011 not to use them because they due to “component failure” they are unsafe to use.
B&Q have apologised and have removed these products from their shops.
