After receiving industrial tribunal advice from Michael Lewin Solicitors Miss Joyce was successful in her attempt to claim from her employers after being subjected to pregnancy discrimination.
Miss Joyce was an education councillor who had recently had her much awaited first baby and was ready to go back to work. She had previously worked full time but was wanting to go back to work part time just while the baby was still young.
Miss Joyce had been an education councillor for 5 years since qualifying and was desperate to get back to doing the job she loved but just on a part time basis to start off with.
?I spoke to my superior about the possibility of either working half days or maybe a couple of full days although I would have preferred half days. I got told very bluntly that I was either to go back to doing the same hours I was doing before or hand in my notice. Even after negotiations I was left with no choice other than to seek industrial tribunal advice and claim for the way I was being treated.?
Miss Joyce was delighted with the result she got and is grateful for the industrial tribunal advice she received from Michael Lewin solicitor’s about making a claim.
