Pharmaceutical negligence or errors with prescriptions are surprisingly all too common and can result in serious side effects being suffered and in some cases may even result in death.
It is estimated that over a million patients every year are dispensed with incorrect medication and most suffer an injury as a result. Often we find that the medication handed to us is either the wrong medication or the incorrect dose.
Although each one of us should check the medication that we received is correct it is often the case that we rely upon the expertise of either the doctor who prescribed it or the pharmacist who dispensed it to ensure that it is correct and appropriate for our condition.
We operate from offices in Leeds, but help claimants in all of England and Wales. Rest assured, your case will be in good hands.

What Is Pharmaceutical Negligence?
Pharmaceutical negligence occurs when errors with prescriptions are administered to customers thus causing the customer to suffer from serious side effects, and in some cases may even result in death.
Pharmaceutical malpractice is much more common than you would believe, and affects a large percentage of our nation’s population every day.
What Amounts To Pharmaceutical Negligence/Prescription Errors?
Pharmaceutical claims include;
- Being prescribed or dispensed the incorrect medication
- Being prescribed or dispensed the incorrect dose of medication
- Being prescribed medication to which it is known you are allergic
- Being dispensed another patients medication
- Being prescribed or dispensed with a medication that interacts with other medications you are taking
When Should I Make A Claim?
As with all personal injury claims, claimants have a period of three years to commence court proceedings in their claim.
This three year ‘limitation period’ usually begins from the date on which the injury was caused, or the date on which the claimant became aware that they have suffered an injury as a result of negligence. As such, the time limit will likely run when you first became aware that the medication you received was incorrect.
Time is therefore an important factor, and so if you believe that you may have suffered an injury as a result of pharmaceutical negligence or as a result of a prescription error, we advise that you contact us as soon as possible to make a no-obligation free enquiry.
