Royal Bournemouth Call Back Nearly 300 Patients for Breast Cancer Screening Recall

272 women have been recalled to The Royal Bournemouth Hospital for reassessment after it was suspected that a junior doctor did not follow proper procedures at their breast cancer screening clinic.
The women affected went to the clinic between January 2011 and July 2012.
The Royal Bournemouth and Christchurch Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust have said that the case has now been referred to the General Medical Council.
The Trust have said that the way in which the junior doctor who is no longer working for the trust had assessed the women was a concern.
According to the Trust patients will be contacted by letter will be offered an appointment date and they will be provided with access to a support telephone number if they need it.
