Shimano Mechanical Disc Brake Calipers for Road Racing Bikes Recalled Due to Safety Risk

Shimano have issued a voluntary recall of their Mechanical Disc Brake Calipers for road racing bikes following a potential safety issue.
The disc brake calipers affected were sold after February 2012 and the batch codes are;
BR-CX75 BR-R515 and BR-R315
There have been no injuries reported and Shimano will be replacing the Mechanical Disc Brake Calipers with improved models.
The company state that the worn brake pads may have been fitted incorrectly by the customers or bicycle dealer.
