Only 22% of Employees Feel Supported When They Suffer Stress at Work

Just one in five workers (22%) believe that their employees actively help them manage stress at work as found in research by the charity Mind.
Mind surveyed over 2000 employees and discovered that 36% of participants thought that looking after staff mental wellbeing was the responsibility of the organisation.
They also found that:
45% of participants are expected to cope without mentioning they are suffering stress at work
31% thought that they would be able talk openly to their line manager if they felt stressed.
42% of respondents felt that in their workplace stress is regarded as a sign of weakness or that you are unable to cope.
32% think that taking time off for stress is treated as seriously as time taken off for physical illness.
42% of participants believe that time off for stress at work is seen as an excuse for something else.
