Mr Isles asked Michael Lewin if they could help him make a claim for stress in the workplace they negotiated compensation for him in the UK.
Mr Isles worked as a team leader in the warehouse at a large hardware store. When the warehouse manager ran off with one of the team leaders with no prior warning there were two vacancies that urgently needed to be filled.
As the longest serving employee Mr Isles was asked to help out with the tasks usually covered by the warehouse manager. The interviews to fill the position were scheduled to start in 2 weeks.
Mr Isles was given very little training. He quickly learnerd to produce the reports and statistics for head office liaise with suppliers and transport companies and many other tasks he was not qualified to do. He just managed to keep things running. No-one noticed the long hours he was working to keep on top of things.
After 6 months no replacements had been found and the interviews ceased. His complaints to head office went unheard; it seemed they were happy to save the extra salaries as long as things were going ok.
After a further 6 months Mr Isles got the flu which turned into pneumonia he was so run down that his body struggled to fight the illness. He ended up being off of work for 10 weeks.
?If I hadn?t suffered so much stress in the workplace I would have been fit enough to recover from this illness much quicker? said Mr Isles; he spoke with Michael Lewin who negotiated compensation in the UK on his behalf.
